Dark Chocolate Fig Oatmeal Bars

These healthy oatmeal bars taste great with the rich flavors of dark chocolate and sweet figs. Great for a quick breakfast on the go or a filling snack in the afternoon.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup dried figs, stems removed and chopped
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped almonds
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

Start by heating the oven to 350F 175C

Break up the figs and put them in a saucepan

Add the almond butter, honey or maple syrup, almond milk, and salt

On low heat, mix the ingredients well and let them get a little thicker

Put rolled oats, dark chocolate chips, and chopped almonds in a large bowl

Add the fig mixture to the oat mixture and mix it all together by stirring

Put the mixture into a baking dish that has been lined with parchment paper

Use a spatula to smooth the top

Put it in the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown

Let it cool all the way down before cutting it into bars
