Ingredients:

  • 1 box brownie mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel candies
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts optional

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350F 175C

Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan

Prepare the brownie mix according to package instructions

Spread evenly into the prepared pan

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out almost clean

Remove from oven and let cool completely

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the melted butter and chocolate chips

Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and melted

In another microwave-safe bowl, combine the caramel candies and heavy cream

Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and melted

Spread the melted chocolate mixture evenly over the cooled brownies

Pour the melted caramel mixture over the chocolate layer and spread evenly

Sprinkle chopped nuts evenly over the caramel layer, if using

Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until set

Cut into bars and serve
