Ingredients:
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions:
After the cream cheese has cooled, mix it with the butter in a large bowl until it is smooth
When you add the sugar, beat it in until its light and fluffy
The egg, lemon juice, and lemon zest should all be mixed in well
Mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt together in a different bowl
Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients one at a time until a soft dough forms
Put the dough in the fridge for at least an hour with the lid on
Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on baking sheets
Take dough balls about the size of a tablespoon and roll them into balls
Once the baking sheets are ready, put the balls on them
Flatten each dough ball out with the bottom of a glass
After the oven is hot, bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden
After taking the cookies out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheets before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way
Put powdered sugar on top of the cookies after they have cooled down
