Omelet Waffles with Sausage Cheese Sauce

A savory twist on classic waffles, these omelet waffles are loaded with cheese, sausage, and green onions. Top them off with a creamy sausage cheese sauce for a delightful breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 cooked sausage links, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • Cooking spray or oil for waffle iron
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese for waffle batter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour for waffle batter
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder for waffle batter
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda for waffle batter

Instructions:

Warm up your waffle iron and use cooking spray or oil to lightly coat it

Whisk the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper together in a bowl

In a separate bowl, mix the eggs with the shredded cheddar cheese, chopped sausage, and chopped green onions

For the waffle batter, mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and baking soda with the grated Parmesan cheese in a different bowl

Add the dry waffle batter ingredients one by one to the egg mixture and mix them well

Spread the omelet waffle batter out evenly on the hot waffle iron, then close the lid

After 4 to 5 minutes of cooking, the omelet waffle should be golden brown and fully cooked

Take the omelet waffle out of the waffle iron carefully and cut it into four pieces

Make your own sausage cheese sauce by melting cheddar cheese with a little milk in a saucepan until smooth and creamy

You can also use your favorite store-bought cheese sauce

Put some of the sausage cheese sauce on top of each omelet waffle quarter before serving
