Baked Vanilla Bean Doughnuts

The rich flavor of vanilla beans is combined with a fluffy, moist texture to create these delicious Baked Vanilla Bean Doughnuts. These are great as a sweet snack or for breakfast.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 vanilla bean, seeds scraped
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350F 175C

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt

In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, vanilla bean seeds, and vanilla extract

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined

Spoon the batter into a greased doughnut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the doughnuts spring back when lightly touched

Remove from the oven and let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely

Optional: You can glaze the doughnuts with a simple vanilla glaze made from powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for extra sweetness
